I'm in Boston now. It's a nice town. Way bigger than Portland but it doesn't quite feel like that. All the little towns are actually real towns with very different character. None of the streets are at right angles. The cost of living is obscene and I am going to have to sell my soul to live where I want to, either in Boston itself or Cambridge. I have considered mugging Harvard students or technical writing. Right now I'm staying with an orthodox Jew. Nice, very bright guy, son of my political theory teacher. I'm deathly afraid of putting meat on milk plates or otherwise fucking up the kosher kitchen. God, but life is odd. What I would really like to do is spend my days making people happy and my nights trying to write plays. For that I should have stayed in Portland, I think, where I could have surived at least a month on my savings. Right now I'm working on a one-act with Apollo and a coffeeshop. Seems like an opportune time to have a jet of god's blood spurt across the stage, but I guess I'm not that dadaesque.

It's late here, this is a weird email, and I hope you're well. I know you're busy but I wouldn't mind hearing from you.
