10/12: Crows in winter

Tags:

I finally made the switch to a digital camera. After a long and fond relationship with a Pentax LX, enlivened by occasional dalliances with a Yashica twin lens reflex, I found that without access to a good lab the annoyance of getting the film developed, much less printed, was keeping me from taking photos. I originally planned to get an ultracompact, but in reading reviews of various models I found that I was bothered a lot by the noisiness in images taken with those tiny lenses and sensors. So instead I got a Pentax K100D Super. It's a real steal at $450, and I can keep using all my old manual focus lenses. Here's one I took of a crow perched outside my window with an 80-200 zoom.
