I’ve been living in the San Francisco area for almost 5 years now, and I still haven’t really figured out that tangle where Market and Van Ness intersect and SOMA somehow magically turns into the Mission. I have a pretty good sense of direction - I figured out Boston without too much trouble - so I’ve joked about how there’s some sort of “spatial monkey business” that’s been screwing me up. Well, now I have proof. Check out these satellite photos from Google Maps, and you’ll see there’s something not quite right.
