These shows tend to pop up on the educational channels fairly frequently. They annoy me very much. The premise is fairly simple; take some age old mystery, lets say for example Jack the Ripper, and then use “high tech” forensics techniques to learn what really happened.

Now this seems like a good idea, but believe me, it isn’t. There is never any real evidence to work with ( example, an episode entitled Who Killed King Tut) and so they just propose one crazy theory after another, and then pull out some chemicals and a computer and prove that Molly Ringwald is in fact Jack the Ripper. (she also killed king tut, and jfk by the way)

These are slightly better than the shows where they use computer graphics to speculate wildly about what it was like to be a caveman, or what the next major lifeforms to evolve will be like.
