About Me
I am the product of about 20 years of conscious reevaluation: at the age of five St. Augustine appeared to me in a dream as a blood-red flower and inspired me with metaphysical instincts that have manifested themselves slowly as an insatiable skepticism coupled with the ability to suffer fools, a fascination with language counter-balanced by a complete non-interest in literary movements, and an intensely private vocabulary that occasionally proves useful. I am inclined to trust my reason over my gut, but after watching Faust stumble around for the last 539 years in various guises, I have come to suspect that Descartes and the rest of his ilk were emotional misers, verbal thieves, and generally self- delusional. I tend to avoid words that the New Yorker prints with diacritical marks, eschew value judgements, especially those regarding myself, and strongly delineate properties and essense.
