its not that i am blind
that i simply cannot see
its more a fear that i’m only
seeing what i want to see

i cannot trust my eyes
so i simply look away
fearing every thought and fear
might again be betrayed

seems so many times before
riding this train of thought
wondering if things ive noticed
amount to more than naught
