Several times I stayed up late with Brian and Forest at their house in Somerville listening to music. Sometimes we made crepes. When it got warmer S.C.U.L. was more interesting and so it happened less and then I left altogether.

Tom and I know the words to a lot of Leonard Cohen songs and I wondered if things weren’t more like that once with books, with little groups of people reading to each other.
