Dreamed last night of moving to Manhattan, something I have had very little intention of doing. Spent most of the time looking for an apartment.

Continue to live in too many places. Before that, Peru, as a Secret Service agent.

Distinctions between types of ā€˜I’, and why a person will use one more than another. Long, middle, and short, or so I was calling them before coming up with the distinction (the name precedes, always, for it lives closer to the reality). Has to do with how the pronoun would be projected if spoken aloud, what other constructions can be substituted for it, or used to surround it. More later, but it is becoming difficult to read books that contain too much of the middle. No fault of the authors: difficult to write without it, or to acquire the ego necessary for writing; nonetheless, the distinction seems to be growing in importance.
